Wednesday evening this week we set out to plant our garden. The weather held and we planted pumpkins, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, three kinds of lettuce, corn, beans, sunflowers, a pepper plant and an artichoke plant. Mix in a little plant food, some good dirt, gentle loving hands of children and presto,...in three quick months, we will have enough veggies to make six salads,... It amazes me to think about the pioneers and how their crops had to be so plentiful to survive through the winter. There certainly wasn't any, "honey I am hooking up the horse to the wagon to head to the grocery store for a nice bottle of wine, some cheese and fruit tray,...." Some days we forget how good we have it,.. Tim
